The goal at AMERICAN Castings is to provide our customers with the best options available from prototype to production. We realize your competitiveness in the market often depends on how quickly you can develop and sample a new product. In the past, it has been difficult to acquire prototype samples from a production foundry in a timely and cost-effective manner. Customarily, prototype tooling and samples must be produced by a separate low volume shop and then later moved to another foundry for production volumes. This is not the typical process for AMERICAN Castings.
In September of 2020, we installed a Thermwood 5 axis CNC router which will allow us to quickly produce low volume tooling for prototype samples. This router has an 84” by 120” (2,134mm X 3,048mm) table and is well suited for any size casting our mold lines can produce. This eliminates the need for involving multiple outside services, long lead times, and costly metal tooling. This capability also allows for more flexibility in tooling revisions during the developmental stage.
